2006 Taque aux armes de Christophe de Cult
Fireplace plate in cast iron of the XVIIth century with the coats of arms of Christophe de Cult, lord of Cemboing, knight (1619) captain in the regiment of Arberg, received in Saint Georges de Bourgogne’s order in 1654, died in 1661.
These complex coats of arms were very fashionable in the XVIIth century, they aimed at emphasizing ascendants. It is particularly the case here, Christophe de Cult fetches very far and not always in his own genealogy, the coat of arms of sometimes prestigious families to enrich his own arms and rather modest lineage… (Franche-comté, France).
